    Teri Campbell, RN, BSN, CFRN

    Teri Campbell has over 20 years of obstetric, emergency, and flight nursing experience. Teri began her critical care career in High Risk Labor and Delivery. For over 10 years, she was a clinical educator and maternal transport team nurse caring for normal healthy pregnancies and critically ill maternal and fetal patients. Since leaving obstetrics, Teri has been a rotor and fixed wing flight nurse. She has the varied experiences of flying trauma patients from the scenes of highways and cornfields to managing critically ill patients while flying hours over oceans to get them home or to the tertiary care that they need.

    Teri is an instructor in numerous critical care classes including BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS, PHTLS, TNCC, TNATC, CATN and EN CARE. She has also authored critical care articles for the Journal of Emergency Nursing and has written Obstetric and Pediatric chapters in numerous critical care text books.

    She has presented at numerous national conferences including the Air Medical Transport Conference and the Emergency Nurses Association and has provided emergency/transport OB education for numerous flight programs across the country. Presentation topics vary from adult trauma, adult critical care, pediatrics, pediatric critical care, transport, neonatal and obstetrics. In addition, Teri assists law firms by providing expert review and testimony related to nursing standards of care.

    However, Teri's true passion is her 5 children and although 3 of them are currently teenagers there is nothing she would rather do then hang out with them! She considers herself truly blessed.

  • Joseph Congeni, MD, FAAP

    Joseph Congeni, MD, FAAP

    Joseph A. Congeni, M.D.,F.A.A.P., is the Division Director of the Sports Medicine Center at Akron children's Hospital as well an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM). He developed the Primary Care Pediatrics Sports Medicine Fellowship at Akron Children's Hospital, the first of its kind at a pediatric hospital in the U.S.

    He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame; and received his medical degree from NEOUCOM. Dr. Congeni is Board Certified in Pediatrics and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He has served on the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness and previously served as co-chairman of the Committee on Adolescent and Sports Medicine in the Ohio A.A.P. office. He currently serves on the Home and School Health Committee for the Ohio A.A.P. as well.

    Dr. Congeni is currently a team physician for the University of Akron and Archbishop Hoban High School. He has won several awards including: the Summa Family Practice Teaching Award, Northern Ohio Live Best Doctors in Northern Ohio Award, Ohio High School Athletic Association Respect the Game Award, Ohio A.A.P. Committee Chair of the Year Award, Ohio Athletic Trainer's Association's Team Physician of the Year Award. Most recently, he was named Ohio Outstanding Team Physician by the Ohio State Medical Association.

    He has published many papers, with special interest in lumbar spondylolysis, youth baseball injuries and brain injuries in athletes. Dr. Congeni also appears on a weekly radio Sports Medicine segment.

  • Sherri Dean, RN, BSN, CCRN, CFRN

    Sherri Dean, RN,BSN,CCRN,CFRN

    Sherri Dean has extensive training and experience in neonatal & pediatric intensive care and transport. She has been working and teaching at a major pediatric academic facility for the past 10 years. Sherri holds certifications in critical care, trauma and flight nursing. She is an instructor for NRP, PALS, TNCC, lead instructor for S.T.A.B.L.E., course coordinator for PEPP & currently is ASTNA's Neonatal special interest group chair.

    She has co-authored, as well as been utilized as a reviewer, for several specialty transport publications. Sherri has a wide range or experience lecturing in the arena of care for neonates and critically ill children to pre-hospital providers, physicians, emergency departments, nurseries and pediatric departments.

    Sherri's conversational and interactive style coupled with her passion for helping healthcare providers better care for children and their families make her an ideal speaker for any audience type.

  • Scott DeBoer RN, MSN, CEN, CCRN, CFRN, CPEN, EMT-P


    Scott DeBoer is a seminar leader and nurse consultant with over 20 years of nursing experience. Scott received his associate's degree in 1988, his baccalaureate in 1991 and his master's degree in critical care nursing from Purdue University in 1996. He presently works as a flight nurse for the University of Chicago Hospitals and is the primary seminar leader for Peds-R-Us Medical Education, a seminar company dedicated to teaching better ways to care for kids. Scott has authored a Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse Review book and a neonatal emergencies handbook, for emergency nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists.

    His past experience includes over 20 years of neonatal/pediatric/adult flight nursing, as well as staff nurse positions in intensive care, emergency/trauma nursing. He has also taught as a clinical nursing instructor at Purdue University and is a member of AACN, ENA, NAEMSE, and ASTNA. Lastly, Scott is a legal nurse consultant with various national law firms, and as such, is an expert witness for nursing and EMS malpractice issues.

    Scott has appeared on the series Trauma Center and in 1995 made his acting debut when he was used on several episodes of the hit television show E.R. as the flight nurse opposite Anthony Edwards and George Clooney.

    Scott has written extensively on pediatric and critical care topics in multiple journals such as Neonatal Network, Critical Care Nurse, Journal of Emergency Nursing, AirMed, Emergency Medical Services, Air-Medical Journal and Nursing Spectrum. In recognition of his excellence and significant contributions in medical transport journalism, Scott was honored by ASTNA to be the recipient of the 2000 Jordan Award.

    Scott is married and has two young children, but still manages to hold certifications in emergency, critical care, trauma and flight nursing. He also regularly lectures to national and international audiences on neonatal, pediatric, & "big-people" emergency topics.

    Kevin Giordano, JD

    Kevin Giordano is an attorney who specializes in the litigation of medical malpractice cases defending claims that have been brought by patients against health care professionals, including hospitals, doctors and nurses.

    He is a graduate of St. Michael's College and Loyola University School of Law and has been practicing law for over 17 years.

    Kevin has lectured extensively on medical-legal issues and has published numerous articles on medical malpractice. He combines the use of case presentations with personal courtroom experience to deliver highly informative seminars that take into account the balance that must exist between legal liability considerations and the providers need to deliver medical care in a time intensive profession. His informal manner and interactive style of presentation de-mystifies what for many is a stressful topic and leaves his audience with a much better understanding of the legal process

  • Angela Golden, RN, MNEd, MS, CNS,FNP-C, CFRN

    Angela Golden, RN, MNEd, MS, CNS, FNP-C, CFRN

    Angie Golden has 25 years of nursing experience. Angie received her BSN in 1977 from Ball State University, a masters in nursing education in 1996 from the University of Phoenix, and completed her Masters in Science with a family nurse practitioner certification in 1998 from Northern Arizona University. She presently works in emergency departments as a nurse practitioner, continues doing ground transports in Northern Arizona, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Northern Arizona University teaching in their undergraduate and nurse practitioner programs. Angie regularly presents at the local, state and national level and has been published numerous times in journals and texts, having edited the Flight Nursing Review Manual. Angie is honored to be the recipient of the 2001 ASTNA Jordan Award and the 2002 Distinguished CFRN Award.

    Her clinical experience covers all areas of critical care; neonatal, pediatric and adult, as well as emergency department nursing in Level I & II trauma centers. She has over 18 years experience in transport care of all ages. She is a member of numerous organizations, including the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (serving as the chairperson for the continuing education committee), American Nurses Association (serving as a chapter vice president), and is the state representative for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is an instructor for PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNATC and a regional faculty for the American Heart Association for PALS and ACLS.

    Angie is married with two wonderful sons and now three incredible grandchildren allowing her to continue her growth in understanding children of all ages.

  • Kevin High, RN, BSN, MPH, EMT-B

    Kevin High has been in health care since 1985. He has an extensive background in EMS, emergency nursing, & air-medical transport, both as a clinician and an educator. As a registered nurse and EMT, he has had the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of healthcare professionals during his career. Kevin's EMS background includes working as an ALS provider for several 911 services, and also as an adjunct faculty member for two EMS education programs. His emergency nursing experience is very diverse. He has worked in rural settings, community hospitals, and has been employed by Vanderbilt Life Flight in Nashville as a flight nurse for the past nine years.

    His educational background includes a Bachelor's in Nursing and a Masters in Public Health. Kevin lectures & teaches multidisciplinary courses on a state & national level to EMS providers, nurses, & physicians.

    He has authored over 25 articles that have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Emergency Nursing, EMS Magazine, Air-Medical Journal, & Emergency Medicine.

    Born & raised in Tennessee, he resides in rural College Grove with his wife Vona.

    Stu has over 20 years of EMS, critical care transport, & respiratory therapy experience. He currently works as a flight paramedic for Flight for Life, as well as being the Transport Coordinator for American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. He regularly presents at regional and national pediatric and transport medicine symposiums. Stu's ground and flight paramedic experiences, combined with his respiratory therapy background, give his presentations a truly unique and insightful perspective.

  • Lynn Mohr, MS, APRN, BC, CPN

    Lynn Mohr, MS, APRN, BC, CPN

    Lynn has been a pediatric nurse for 30 years and is an Advanced Practice Nurse/Clinical Nurse Specialist. In addition, she is currently the president of the Society of Pediatric Nursing. She has provided certification review courses for the past several years and holds CPN certification herself. Lynn has written test item questions for both the ANCC and the PNCB. She has presented both at the healthcare provider and the community level and is certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatric Nursing.

  • Daniel Rauch, MD

    Daniel Rauch, MD

    Dr. Rauch attended Wesleyan University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He did his post-graduate training in the Department of Pediatrics at Einstein, where he subsequently attained the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and served as Director of the Pediatric Residency Program and Director of Inpatient Pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center. He went on to become the Director of the Hospitalist Service at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital of Westchester Medical Center and Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at New York Medical College. He is a national leader in the new field of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

    He is the Co-Founder and Chair of the Hospital Medicine Special Interest Group of the of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, Co-Chair of the Pediatric Core Curriculum Task Force and member of the Pediatric Committee for the Society of Hospital Medicine, and member of the Executive Committee of the AAP Section of Hospital Medicine. He was invited to serve on the Pediatric Technical Advisory Panel, as part of the National Voluntary Consensus Standards for Hospital Care: Additional Priorities, 2006-2007, and he is part of the planning committee for "Pediatric Hospital Medicine 2007", the national Pediatric Hospital Medicine conference. He remains active in medical education as a member of the Executive Committee of the APA Education Committee and as faculty of the APA Educational Scholars Program.

    Dr. Rauch has been the head of Inpatient Pediatrics Hospitalist Program - Division of General Pediatrics since April 2005.

    Ella Scott is a nurse consultant/lecturer with over 20 years of pediatric nursing experience. Her background includes nearly 10 years with N.E.T.S. (New South Wales Neonatal & Emergency Transport Service), extensive experience in Pediatric & Neonatal intensive care, and Emergency Department Pediatrics. Ella currently is the nurse consultant for the pediatric emergency department at Sydney Children's Medical Center and also coordinates the P.E.T.A.L.S. (Pediatric Emergency Training in Advanced Life Support) course at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital. She continues to be involved with pediatric simulation based training utilizing the technology of the Sydney Medical Simulation Centre.

    Ella has written & presented extensively on pediatric transport, emergency pediatrics, and simulation technology. In recognition of nursing excellence within this area, Ella was recently awarded a N.R.B. New South Wales Scholarship to attend & present a paper in Beijing at the 23'rd World Congress of Pediatrics.

    She currently lives in Sydney, Australia & lecture topics include: The Ouchless Emergency Department, Pain management for procedures, Stabilization & resuscitation prior to transport, pediatric trauma management, & the use of simulator technology in pediatrics.

  • Michael Seaver, RN, BA, EMT-P

    Michael Seaver is an Emergency Nurse and paramedic from the Chicago Metro / Northwest Indiana area. In addition to his nursing work, Michael is an instructor for the American Heart Association and Emergency Nurses Association courses, and is very active in ENA activities at the local, state and national levels. He brings with him an extensive background in hospital as well as pre-hospital emergency medical services, and has been appointed by the governor of Indiana to serve on the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Commission as the representative of emergency nurses.

    Michael has written and co-authored articles which have appeared in "Pediatric Emergency Care," "Nursing Spectrum," "The Journal of Emergency Nursing," "Neonatal Network," "EMS Magazine" and other publications. He has spoken at state, regional, national and international EMS and emergency nursing conferences and has an especially strong interest in humor, and stress management and PDA Technology. Michael is often recognized as that "Goofy" ER RN for his collection of ER/EMS humor entitled "You might be an ER Nurse if..."

    Lynn is currently Corporate Director of Risk Management for Baystate Health. In this role, she manages the day to day operations of the self insured medical malpractice program. Lynn also provides consultation to physicians, residents, and nurses to assist them in the interpretation and application of state and federal laws. She is responsible for managing loss prevention and risk control programs and for educating nursing and medical staff in risk reduction strategies.
